Trauma Informed Therapy
Trauma is not only defined by what happened. It is also shaped by how the body and nervous system responded and whether there was support afterward.
Trauma can stem from a single overwhelming event or from repeated stress over time. It may show up as anxiety, emotional reactivity, difficulty trusting others, feeling on edge, numbness, or patterns that feel hard to change.
Hannah provides trauma informed therapy that prioritizes safety, pacing, and nervous system stabilization. The goal is not to push clients into reliving painful experiences before they are ready. Instead, the work begins by building internal resources and strengthening emotional regulation.
Her approach may include EMDR therapy, cognitive and behavioral strategies, nervous system regulation techniques, attachment focused work, and processing experiences that continue to impact daily functioning. EMDR is a structured, evidence based treatment that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.
Trauma work is collaborative. Clients move at a pace that feels manageable and grounded. The focus is on increasing stability, strengthening resilience, and helping individuals feel more present and less controlled by past experiences.
When appropriate, Hannah collaborates with medical providers to support coordinated care, particularly when medication or other treatments are part of the healing process.Healing from trauma does not mean erasing the past. It means building the capacity to live with greater steadiness, clarity, and choice.
